The truth behind this mystery

A train on the adjacent track began to move, so the woman thought her own train had departed and panicked, thinking her friend had been left behind. However, the clock fixed to the platform remained in the same position relative to her view out the window. Realizing her train was still stopped, she relaxed and sat back down.

If you notice this, you’ve got it right

She mistook the movement of the train next to her for her own train’s departure, but since her train’s position relative to the clock fixed to the platform hadn’t changed, she realized her train was still stopped.
