What is Soup Hour?
Soup Hour is a place to enjoy lateral thinking puzzles, also known in Japan as Umigame no Soup. Use questions and hints to uncover what lies behind a short story. You can play on your own by asking the AI questions, or take turns hosting puzzles with friends and family.
What we aim for in a puzzle
We aim to create puzzles whose answers explain the events in the question and make sense when seen from a different perspective. Our explanations should help you understand not just the answer, but also which assumption was worth questioning.
Creation and the use of AI
We use AI to help develop and refine puzzles, create illustrations, and translate text into English. The site operator decides which puzzles and illustrations to use, what to revise, and when to publish.
The site's interactive puzzle host also uses AI to answer questions and assess solutions. It can make mistakes.
Explanations and corrections
We care about how each question, hint, answer, and explanation fits together. When unclear wording or inconsistencies are found, we review the content and make improvements. If you notice an issue, please contact us with the puzzle URL and a description.
